History of the Laver Cup
The Laver Cup is another segment of numerous men’s tennis tournaments held each year. It was designed and first competed in during 2017, just four years before the competition in 2021. The tournament attracts some of the most well-known players and contenders in the realm of tennis, and it is highly regarded in the tennis field since it provides these competitors with the opportunity to win additional silverware each year. Novak Djokovic, Roger Federer, and Nick Kyrgios are among the most well-known players who have participated in and appeared in the Laver Cup.
When does the 2021 Laver Cup start?
The Laver Cup 2021 has been rescheduled from its initial dates and will therefore occur from September 24 to September 26. The event will be held on indoor hard courts in the TD Garden Area, Massachusetts, U.S.A. This is the fourth year of the Laver Cup, and it promises to be as exciting as the previous three.
How does the Laver Cup work?
As already noted, the Laver Cup is held over three days. There will be four matches between Team Europe and Team World on these days. Each match earns the victorious side one point on the first day, two points on the second day, and three points on the third day. The first team to achieve 13 points to win the tournament. There are a potential of 24 points available during the competition, but no team can win before day three because the third day has half (12) of the total points available.
The teams are set as Team Europe, managed by Bjorn Borg, and Team World managed by John McEnroe. There are twelve players in total, six per team. Team Europe consists of Medvedev, Tsitsipas, Zverev, Rublev, Berrettini, and Ruud. Team World contains Shapovalov, Schwarzman, Auger-Aliassime, Isner and Kyrgios. Team Europe features five players from the top ten highest ranked players for 2021, with their 6th player, Casper Ruud, in 11th place. This might explain how Team Europe has dominated all three of their prior Laver Cup competitions versus Team World.

We can make a broad projection and say that Team Europe will defend their crown for the fourth year running. The disparity in professional skill rankings attributed to both sides of the competition supports this belief. From a statistical perspective, Team Europe has the better players, and will be the favourites to win the trophy. Denis Shapovalov of Team World has a good chance of winning one or two sets in his matches, according to our predictions. He may have a greater chance than the rest of his squad depending on who he faces.
